Ambulatory Services Line
Provides comprehensive exposure to various physician practices and facility-based clinic settings to support the continuum of care for patient services at Prisma Health. The Ambulatory Services Line program prepares new graduate nurses in providing both preventive and illness care across a patient’s life span in a diverse outpatient population. Clinical placement and training will be provided in a variety of practice settings including pediatrics, surgical specialty, family medicine, oncology and plastic surgery. This service line will be offered on an as-needed basis.

Children’s Services Line
Serves to promote the transition of new graduate nurses from students to competent, professional nurses in the specialty of children’s services or pediatric nursing. New graduate nurses will evolve into competent nursing professionals in the specialized care of children whose age ranges from neonate to young adult. The children’s service line utilizes a combination of quality classes, neonatal and pediatric core curriculum, simulation, and hands-on application with clinical experts and educators to facilitate clinical and professional development. This service line will be offered on an as-needed basis.

Adult Multispecialty Services Line
Encompasses foundational nursing care in Medical-Surgical, Cardiovascular, Neurology, Nephrology, Orthopedic, Acute Care for the Elderly, Telemetry, Oncology, Hospice and Behavioral Health units. The Acute Care (AC) Service line serves to transition new graduate nurses from student nurses to competent professional nurses in their chosen area. The AC service line is more than a traditional orientation program. This service line utilizes educators that are experts in their areas to teach and mentor new graduate nurses through quality classes, core curriculum classes, simulation and hands-on learning experiences. Along with professional development and peer support, graduates of this service line will emerge as competent, confident and well-rounded in their foundational specialty.

Critical Care Services Line
Gives a broad exposure to the varied critical care subspecialties available at Prisma Health. The Critical Care service line prepares new graduate nurses through instructor-led critical care systems based on the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) curriculum modules, simulation, and hands-on clinical experience with preceptors trained in these specialty areas. The Nurse Residency Program also requires participation in professional development courses that help to cultivate well-rounded, autonomous nurses who are ready for the challenge of critical care.

Emergency Department Services Line
Serves to transition new graduate nurses from students to competent professional nurses in the specialty of Emergency Medicine for the adult and pediatric patient population. New graduate nurses will evolve into quality emergency nursing professionals through a combination of quality classes, the Emergency Nursing Association (ENA) Emergency Nursing Orientation curriculum, simulation, one-on-one skills validation and hands-on application with expert clinical mentors, educators and professional development guides.

Perioperative Services Line
Serves to transition new graduate nurses from students to competent professional nurses in the specialty of Perioperative Nursing. New graduate nurses will evolve into quality perioperative nursing professionals through a combination of quality classes, the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) core curriculum, simulation, one-on-one skills validation and hands-on application with expert preceptors, educators, and professional development guides.

Women’s Services Line

Encompasses the Obstetrics and Gynecology, Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and Newborn Nursery units on designated Prisma Health campuses. New graduate nurses in this service line will be prepared to thrive in the fast-paced areas related to women’s health and newborn care. Nurse residents will follow a structured, women’s specialty curriculum that will provide them with a solid foundation to care for women and neonates in the immediate pre and postpartum phases of care. This service line will be offered on an as-needed basis.
